The London Dungeon
Creating a new home for the London Dungeon at County Hall.
We delivered the relocation of the iconic London Dungeon within the Grade II listed County Hall building on London’s South Bank. Working closely with Merlin’s creative design team and specialist suppliers, the project transformed the existing structure to accommodate a fully immersive visitor attraction spanning three floors and wrapped around two courtyards. Delivered within a highly constrained, live environment, the scheme required careful planning and coordination to integrate complex structures, services and themed spaces within a historic setting.

Delivering complex ride and exhibition environments within a live attraction.
The scope included intrusive asbestos removal, extensive structural slab alterations, column reconfiguration and the diversion of primary heating and drainage services, alongside new M&E, data and life‑safety systems. A new themed 40‑person lift and shaft were installed, together with multiple immersive rooms, actor‑only corridors, a 10‑metre‑high drop ride and a sub‑basement river ride with mechanised lift and chute. Back‑of‑house spaces, retail, ticketing and administration areas complete a complex, high‑performance attraction.
