A full-building transformation delivering 435 high-quality student bedrooms in Wembley.

At The Helix, we transformed a 21‑storey student accommodation building through an extensive three‑year refurbishment and fit out programme. Working closely with our project partners, the team delivered 435 refreshed bedrooms alongside premium shared amenities designed to support wellbeing, study and social connection. Improvements included upgraded finishes, modernised circulation areas and a series of enhanced community spaces that bring vibrancy and character to the building. The result is a contemporary, engaging and future‑ready residence that provides a high‑quality living environment for new student residents.

    Extensive remediation and high-quality fit out to future-proof a major PBSA asset.

    The project involved significant remediation works after strip‑out revealed widespread issues with fire safety, ventilation and existing services. The building was fully reclad and wrapped in scaffold—installed over nine months—to enable intrusive repairs, including cutting into structural beams and bedroom spaces to secure the new façade. Alongside these essential upgrades, the team completed the full fit out of bedrooms and amenity areas, adding new recreational spaces, a gym, café, private dining rooms and renewed reception zones. Together, these interventions deliver a safe, modern and experience‑led environment that sets a new benchmark for the operator.
