Prominently situated in the centre of New Malden, CI Tower is a 16 storey office building which benefits from excellent views across South West London.
Collins was appointed to undertake the Cat A refurbishment to the fifth floor office space on behalf of CLS Holdings. CLS wanted to modernise the existing office space to make it more attractive to potential occupiers and keep up with current office trends.
To modernise and future-proof the office space based on existing tenants’ feedback, CLS also decided to convert part of the ground floor retail and café units into a commuter centre, rather than using the cramped basement. Cyclists are becoming the new commuters and they need a place that is convenient, stylish and well-appointed to use after a cycle-commute to the office.
CLS Holdings also wanted the office space to be energy efficient. This was achieved by installing a four pipe LTHW & CHW water fan coil unit system as well as a new lighting control system. The system has numerous multi- sensors within the ceiling tiles with daylight compensation available.
The fourth and tenth floor sub‐lobbies were also modernised as part of the refurbishment and a re-design to the main reception area was undertaken to make the entrance more impressive and inviting. This included a re-design of the existing M/F ceiling, new feature border lighting and a new concrete feature wall panelling to the lift lobby. The new shower area also incorporates the feature concrete panels to create an industrial, contemporary feel.
